  • Bronson Van Wyck held his annual birthday bash in Mykonos over the weekend, choosing the ruins of a Greek temple as the venue to celebrate turning 43
  • Paris Hilton, Christine and Steven Schwarzman, Vanessa Getty, Indre Rockfeller and the mother and sister of the birthday boy were on hand for the event
  • Van Wyck grew up in Northern Arkansas and attended Yale, working for the State Department and later in Los Angeles as a set designer before founding his company
  • Out Mom Out star Jill Kargman was also at the event, and both she and her husband donned a leather linothorax and eyeliner, while the birthday boy went as Dionysus and draped himself in grapes
  • This is just the latest over-the-top birthday bash for Van Wyck, who in 2015 hosted a Bal des Sauvages in New York City

Party planner Bronson Van Wyck celebrated his birthday over the weekend with a bacchanal bash in Mykonos that drew out a very A-list crowd of very scantily-clad guests.

Paris Hilton, Vanessa Getty and Indre Rockfeller were among the togaed throng who turned out for the bash, which was held inside the ruins of a local temple.

There was not an abundance of food and plenty of drink at the dionysian affair, which all capped off with performances from Flo Rida and Duran Duran.

Performer Simon Le Bon was one of the few men who kept his Achilles heel hidden as he performed in jeans and tee-shirt, while wife Yasmin got into the spirit of things by dressing as Helen of Troy.

The best look of the night however may have been billionaire Steven Schwarzman, who chose to forgo the suggested Homeric attire and and instead dressed up like another billionaire - the late, Greek, shipping magnate Aristsole Onasis.

Van Wyck founded his eponymous event production with his mother Mary Lynn in 1999, and soon after his sister Mimi joined as a partner.

The company has planned a number of A-list bashes and weddings, with clients including Beyonce, Madonna, and former presidents Barack Obama, George Bush and Bill Clinton.

He is a descendant of Robert A. Van Wyck, a former New York mayor who now had the misfortune of having his name attached to the often congested expressway that connects John F Kennedy Airport in Queens to the rest of the city.

Van Wyck grew up in Arkansas however, and after attending Yale accepted a job in Washington DC with the State Department where he handled protocol, which is why in addition to former heads of state here in the US his roster of clients includes many an ambassador and foreign dignitary.

It was then off to Hollywood for a few years designing sets before his return to New York City and the creation of Van Wyck & Van Wyck.

For his own bash he opted to dress like Dionysius himself, wearing a green toga that had grapes dripping down the front, as well as a crown that was bursting with the berries.

His mother and sister were also among the guests this weekend, as was actress and writer Jill Kargman, who along with her husband Harry got very much in the spirit of the night.

'Dionysus hath smiled upon us! Thank you @bronsonvanwyck for the best #homeric bacchinal of this Artemesia’a life. Duran Duran hits against the cliffs and was f***ing Mount Olympus itself,' wrote Kargman on Instagram.

She then included photos of both herself and her husband, who proved to be the night's best sport wearing a leather linothorax and lots of eyeliner just like his wife.

Getty and Hilton chose more glittering looks, opting for dresses made of chain metal that they showed off on social media.

There was no photo of Hilton at the party on her Instagram, but she did pose a glimpse of her look in what appeared to be a post promoting the hotel in Mykonos that was providing her with lodging for the event.

Lucy Sykes Rellie and her husband Euan were not shy about sharing photos from the party however, posting a combined total of 12 photos from the evening.

These included both husband and wife in their traditional togas, which Euan added some sparkle to with gold glitter on his face.

Another duo who posted multiple shots from the birthday were the svelte Candadian design duo of Dan and Dean Caten.

The twins behind DSquared had been visiting Lindsay Lohan at her her nearby club a few days before the bash, and on Saturday night showed off their very slender frames in togas that left little to the imagination.

Gigi Mortimer, whose son Topper recently wed designer Tabitha Simmons, was at the bash, as was sugar baron Pepe Fanjul and his wife Emilia.

Christina Schwarzman, who hosted their year's Met Ball alongside her husband, was also on hand as was former Vogue editor Meredith Melling Burke.

Their presence in Mykonos rather than back in New York suggested that they did not make the cut for the big wedding of Anna Wintour's daughter Bee Shaffer and her Italian husband Francesco Carrozzini.

He is also of Vogue lineage, with his late mother Franca Sozzani presiding over Vogue Italia prior to her death in 2016 after a year spent battling an unknown illness.

Socialite Lydia Fenet, photographer Douglas Friedman and publicist Peggy Siegal were also all in attendance at the party,

Friendman and his partner, Nike brand director Peter Wish, also provided their own take on the theme by dressing a Grecian space gladiators.

This is just the latest over-the-top birthday bash for Van Wyck, who turned 43 this year.

To celebrate turning 40 back in 2015 he hosted a Bal des Sauvages on New York City's Upper East Side, a little over 600 years after the first was held in Paris back in 1393 by King Charles VI of France.

Luckily for Van Wyck, no one was set to fire at that bash, which drew out the likes of Julia Koch, Tamara Mellon and Michael Ovitz, Candice Bergen and Martha Stewart.
