ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) - A 46-year-old Washington state man is accused of fatally stabbing another Washington man in Alaska.
John Stapleton of Kent, Washington, is charged with second degree murder in connection with the death of 61-year-old John Fergerson Sr. of Bremerton, Washington.
Alaska State Troopers say they got a request on Sunday from Yakutat police to help with an investigation into Fergerson’s death in the southeast Alaska community.
Troopers say the two men got into a fight that ended with the stabbing.
Stapleton was arrested Monday. Online court records don’t list an attorney for him.
Troopers say Fergerson’s body was being sent to the state medical examiner’s office for an autopsy.
