Former US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said during a visit to Seoul that there was no need to be “bellicose and aggressive” in responding to North Korea’s nuclear program, and criticized current US President Trump for his “dangerous, short-sighted” approach. During remarks at the 18th World Knowledge Forum sponsored by a Korean financial newspaper, “Maeil Business News,” that was held on Oct. 18, Clinton expressed concern that Trump was unnecessarily raising tensions on the Korean Peninsula and fretted that, “[US] allies are now expressing concerns about America’s credibility and reliability.” She also said that the US needs to show “forceful patience” in dealing with the Kim Jong-un regime, and called on China to take a more active role in pushing for a solution to the issue.
