Hillary Clinton pushes back at Trump’s Russia tweet

Hillary Clinton responded to a deceptively edited video tweeted by President Trump that showed her claiming that a “strong, competent, prosperous, stable Russia” is in the best interest of the world.

“Will the Dems and Fake News ever learn?” Trump tweeted earlier in the day along with the video. “This is classic!”

However, as Clinton pointed out, the comments were made when reformist Dmitry Medvedev was president.

“That’s a clip from when Medvedev was president. Here’s what I said about Putin’s Russia,” Clinton tweeted.

She included a 2-minute video taken days before the 2016 presidential election.

In the campaign video, Clinton excoriated Vladimir Putin’s cyber intrusions and Trump’s deference to the Russian leader.

“We are dealing with something unprecedented in the history of our country,” Clinton said.

“A foreign adversary trying to influence our presidential election — and that should scare everybody.”
