The United States Hispanic Business Council (USHBC) Congratulates Anna M. Gomez on recent appointment to the FCC
"After more than 20 years without a Hispanic serving as an FCC commissioner, Gomez’s presence will serve as a monumental step towards the fair representation of Hispanics in media and politics. This is important, because right now Hispanics represent more than 20% of our nation’s overall population. In fact, there are more Hispanics in America today than there are African Americans and Asians combined. While we are encouraged by this appointment, it should not have taken two decades to recognize the importance of our community. I commend President Biden for selecting Anna M. Gomez.
With an astounding resume that includes 12 years of various positions within the FCC, we have the utmost faith in her ability to fulfill her duties. We hope to see her formally confirmed in the near future, and look forward to working alongside her and her peers. The FCC oversees infrastructure that is critical to our wellbeing and survival as a nation. Having a Hispanic in a leadership role will guarantee our voice is not left out."
